The IB-UNAM Chamela Biological Station spider inventory includes 251 species of Araneomorphae documented with 2,849 standard views. At the moment we are working on publishing the ecological and taxonomic data.
These spiders were collected in two half hectare plots separated by 0.88 kms covering Tropical Deciduous Forest and Tropical wet forest and visited three times a year from 2023 to 2025. Sampling protocols included six methods: cryptic searching, beating vegetation (day and night), pitfall traps, Berlesse funnels for leaf litter, and direct collecting on the vegetation 'Looking up (LUP)' and on the ground 'looking down(LUD)'. Leaf litter was processed with 12 Berlese funnels of 45 cm. in diameter per plot and 30 pitfall traps left for five active days.
